Difference between plasma and serum


Plasma


1)The plasma is separated with the help of anticoagulant like EDTA.

2)In plasma clotting factor is present 13 factor.

3) Fibrinogen is present in plasma.

4) Plasma Quantity more than serum.

5) plasma is coating. Reason clothing  factor is present.

6) plasma used to coagulation test
Like - PT, prothrombin test  APTT,

7) The plasma is used to transfusion process in human. 



Serum


 1) serum is a separate without  anticoagulants.

2) In serum clotting factor is absent.

3) Fibrinogen is absent in serum.

4) Serum quantity is less than plasma.

5) Serum is used to serological diagnostic test LFT, KFT, Lipid profile, panel,

6) Serum cannot clotting. Reason clotting factor is absent.

7) Serum is separated 10-15 Min.
